The Newars are the people mostly in Kathmandu valley, Nepal.
They have their own language belonging to Tibeteto-Burmese Family and higly influenced by Indo-Aryan (Sanskrit) language. For about two century their language Nepal bhasa was supressed by the Govenment then of the country. It was not only the supression of Nepal Bhasa but all the languages of Nepal except one.
They have also been able to conserve their culture, though not so strongly as it should be.
